Portugal forward Bernardo Silva says he is happy to have reached the last 16 with one group game remaining. Portugal beat Turkey 3-0 in their Euro 2024 Football Group F second leg on Saturday. Meaning they are now guaranteed a place in the last 16. Their final group game is against the Czech Republic on June 26.

“I’m very happy with the three points and to be the third team to reach the last (16). We are one step closer to winning the championship but this is just the first step.” said the playmaker, who scored the opening goal in the 21st minute. UFABET 

“It’s not about whether it’s my first goal or not, the important thing is that we are in the group and ready for the next game. Today we played very well. They pressed high but we controlled a lot of things, suppressed the threat and found space behind the defence.

“We feel like the team is in a good position, we feel like we’re going in the right direction. We’re definitely in the round of 16 with one group stage game left.

“We know that there are a lot of Turkish fans living in Germany and we also know that we are at a disadvantage in terms of numbers (of fans), but our fans are great. At no point in the game did we think that we were outnumbered. Of course, scoring first helps a lot.”
