Borussia Dortmund have announced that full-back Julian Ryerson has signed a new contract until 2028.

Ryerson has been a regular for the Black and Yellows since joining from Union Berlin in January 2023.

His previous deal was due to expire in 2026, but Dortmund have decided to reward him with a new deal until 2028.

“To be honest, I still feel the same way as I did when I arrived. I am still proud and humbled to be part of this club and I am happy to continue playing for Dortmund,” Rierson said. “

I feel comfortable here and enjoy every game, especially when we play at our home ground. That’s why I am here and I want to feel that way for as long as possible.”

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl expressed his delight after extending the contract of Ryerson. “Julian became a very important part of our team immediately after signing. That applies both on and off the pitch,” Kehl said.
